This organisation shall be known as Saham Toney Bridge Club and shall be run as a Duplicate Bridge Club.

The Officers of the Saham Toney Bridge Club shall be

• Tournament Director/Chairman
• Assistant Tournament Director
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Committee member

The Officers shall normally be elected at the Annual General Meeting. There shall be no limitation to the number of consecutive terms of office. Nominations shall be proposed and seconded in writing before the end of the previous normal meeting and the successful candidates shall be announced or elected by vote at the A.G.M. Vacancies may be filled at that stage, or by later co-option and then confirmed by committee at the start of a normal meeting.

The treasurer shall submit a Statement of Accounts at each Annual General Meeting. This statement shall be audited by a member of the club who is not an officer.

The Tournament Director and Assistant Tournament Director shall between them be responsible for running the bridge evenings.

The Officers of Saham Toney Bridge Club shall call a Special General Meeting when needed or within four weeks of the receipt of a formal written request signed by at least five members. This request shall contain a formal motion for discussion and no other matters may be raised at the meeting. The Secretary shall notify all members of the time and place of the meeting and the motion to be discussed not less than two weeks before the meeting.

This constitution may only be altered at an Annual General Meeting, or at a special meeting. In the event of any dispute as to its meaning, the opinion of the chairperson shall be final. 33% of the members must be present at such a meeting.

Annual Membership Fees and Table Fees shall be decided at each A.G.M. and must be paid within four weeks of that date. Visitors shall pay table fees and allowed four visits before having to pay a full membership fee.

In the event that Saham Toney Bridge Club ceases to function, (i.e. has less than eight regularly attending members) the Officers shall call a Special General Meeting to confirm its forthcoming demise and then settle all outstanding debts and donate any remaining funds to the Wells Cole Community Centre. This donation and the closure of any accounts held in the name of Saham Toney Bridge Club shall mark the end of Saham Toney Bridge Club.
