Bridge in a fun environment

The Rye Beach Bridge Club was established by Margaret and Brian Morgan in November 2005.

From the start, players of all standards have been accepted, preferably with a sense of humour.

Margaret and Brian insist that the playing of bridge is fun, and that it is important that players respect both their opponents AND THEIR PARTNER.

Duplicate bridge is played at Portsea on Monday mornings, and at Rye on Monday evenings and Thursday afternoons, with a supervised session at Rye on Thursday mornings. Importantly, NO PARTNER is required at any session (exceptions apply at Portsea during January).

GOLD COAST CONGRESS
GOLD COAST CONGRESS

16 club members attended the Annual Gold Coast Congress last month. With over 2000 attendees, this is the biggest congress in the Southern Hemisphere and regarded as one of the World's best.

Besides great bridge, there is a fantastic social side as the accompanying pictures show. How about the shirts?

Gold Coast Trivia

Jac and Bill ran the Trivia Night with a great support team. Rave reviews afterwards

RYE BEACH CONGRESS

Well done to everybody who played in our congress last weekend, particularly those who made their congress debut.

Congratulations to David Osmond  and Mike Giddings in the pairs event and to Phil Douglas in the teams. Now you've put your toe in the water, let's hope you hop in deeper and deeper.

Congratulations, too, to Helen Nicholson and Ken Biddick, playing together for only the third time, who won the Best Regional Pair, and to Lee Opray and Alice Green who won the best Rye Beach pair.

Thanks also go to the staff at Rosebud Country Club for their great support and excellent lunches.
