The final round was like the last matches in the football leagues with some quite amazing turn rounds.
In Division One Craig and John were finally toppled from first place by Anne and Ken who came through to win with a very strong finish from 11 behind to 10 in front.
In Division Two Pam and Phil comfortably held on to their first place as did Marion and Clare in second place.
In Division Three David and Maria having been in first place throughout the competition were overtaken by Derek and Steve who came through from second place to win comfortably.
Graham and I would like to thank all those who took part, for the fine competitive spirit and pace of play.
A particular thanks to Clare who provided the boards for all of the sessions and to those who stood in for absent colleagues.
At the present time the Pairs League is a club event but Graham has a desire to elevate to a County event. This does require several criteria to be met, including a minimum of twelve tables, players from other clubs taking part and two events a year. He will be approaching members in due course with his thoughts.
