| ANDREW ROBSON OBE is coming to RMS |
 |
We have great pleasure in announcing that Andrew Robson, said to be the best bridge teacher in the UK, is coming to Royal Mid-Surrey on 13th March next year. Andrew will be giving one of his teaching lessons based on 'bettering your bridge' and usually includes playing hands yourself. We will be situated in the main dining room and thus we have a restriction of 20 tables. We expect to gather at 10.30 and finish about 4.00. Precise details of the programme, including the light lunch menu, will be released a little nearer the time.
We have decided that, as Andrew is such a popular teacher, we will restrict the application for tickets to members only up until the middle of December. After that date we will allow members to bring ONE guest each. If a member brings a guest then the member will be responsible for settling the payment due. For the session with Andrew, there will be a coffee or tea on arrival AND a light lunch. Tea and cakes will be available at the end of the session but NOT included as part of the day. We are asking only £22.50 for a member and only £5 extra for a guest. On booking, a deposit is required for each member and guest of £10 and £15 respectively. Bookings for members will be based on a 'first booked first in the door' basis. When the bookings are open to guests, the name of your guest must be entered at the time of booking.
When booking, we must have payment to confirm your booking. Please see the booking form for payment details. Unfortunately, if someone cancels out, unless a substitute is found and the Bridge Secretary, Julia, informed of such, the deposit will be forfeited in full. We will no doubt have a reserves list so please advise us of any changes.
Bookings, here online, will commence on 1st November for what will be one of the bridge events of our 125 Club anniversary.

| Duplicate Sessions |
Duplicate sessions take place on Thursday evenings and Wednesday afternoons during the winter. In addition to individual session prizes, the main competition is the Peter Taylor Duplicate Cup, which is awarded to the person with the highest aggregate score in 5 of the Thursday evening Duplicate sessions. You can see the current standings in the competition by linking to the tab on the left 'Competition/Peter Taylor Duplicate Cup'. Thursday evening sessions are usually directed by Neil Morley, an EBU registerd director, and use Bridgemates. Copies of the hands are available to players.
Wednesday afternoon sessions are particularly deisigned for those with less experience of duplicate bridge although experienced players are welcome.
There are also special events at Christmas and Easter, the Ladies v Men match in November, and occasional Duplicate sessions during the summer.
Visitors are welcome to all duplicate sessions (other than the Ladies v Men match) although they must be sponsored by an RMS member.
In addition a limited number of teams events, organised to cater for all levels of players, are organised during the winter.
