Permanent Bridge Centre for Jersey
~~

A scheme is under consideration for extending the existing first-floor accommodation at the Jersey Indoor Bowling Centre at Grainville.  A Committee (P.Pitcher, K.Wise, J.Panter, B.Youd and B.Troy) has been formed, has looked into the viability of the scheme and recommends its support.~~

Financing ~

~~~~~~~~~
Building and ancillary costs are estimated at £200,000.   Obviously funding the initial building costs and the continued financial support of bridge players is essential to the success of the scheme.     It is encouraging that the Committee is able to report that verbal confirmation has been received that the funds to cover the above costs can be made available on a commercial basis.     If the cost of money is to be kept to a minimum it is still essential that financial support is obtained from benefactors and the bridge players of Jersey.     The Committee has not ruled out the possibility of obtaining some financial assistance from The States of Jersey, and with this in mind a submission is under consideration.  It is not envisaged that there would be any changes in the running or additional cost in the short term to a club or its members who relocate to the new centre.  Further details may be obtained on request. ~
~~~~~~~~~

~

~~~~~~~~~
This is a unique opportunity for Jersey to have its own Bridge Centre and in order that the Committee has some indication of the measure of support for the scheme, financial or otherwise, it would be helpful if the following questionnaire is completed and returned to John and Pat Panter, Villa Fairlawn, La Grande Route des Sablons, Grouville, JE3 9FG.
~~~~~

~

~~~~~~~~~
The replies to this questionnaire will be treated with the utmost confidence.   It is not intended that this is a binding document but merely an indication of possible future intent.  Anyone who is interested in making a private donation, but does not wish to complete this form, should contact a Committee Member to discuss.~
