I am very sorry to have to tell you of the passing away of one of the club's members, June Hill. She died yesterday - Thursday 25th January 2018 at Martlets Hospice after a long illness.
June was a past director of Rottingdean Bridge Club and she was well know for her phenomenal playing speed. Sometimes her lead card was on the table before the others playing at her table had written the contract on theirs scorecards.

We held our annual Christmas Bridge Party yesterday (Friday 15th Dec) - 9 full tables in play. A free day so no table money collected.
Everyone was given a lovely keyring torch engraved with the club name and website address as a Christmas present from the club.
Katie M won the £5 prize for being the first person to win a trick with the two of clubs.
We had a super tea in the interval. As usual Belinda excelled herself with her wonderful sandwich making. The wine flowed (slightly) and chocolate treats were in plentiful supply.
Victory on the day went to John H and David S with a very creditable 68.75%. Also of note - Angelika H and Martin H made two small slams.
A good time was had by all.
We had a great afternoon on November 3rd when we played for the "Brian Barnard Shield" for the second time. Seven and a half tables in play.
We were playing in memory of our past chairman, Brian Barnard who passed away in October 2015.
In the end, victory went to Monica Watts and Lynne Spooner. They achieved a fantastic 72.2%. Well done to both of them!
