Six people tackled Bridge lessons in the kitchen whilst nine tables competed in the main hall.  Mike Gyles and Naomi Kelsall were top N/S with 57.1%. Mick Buckley and Brian Cordell were top E/W with 65.2%.

After 7 years as Chairman David Knowles has retired and has been succeeded by Alan Kenny.

The club showed its appreciation of David's contribution to Ripley Bridge Club by awarding him Life Membership of the club.

  INVITATION PAIRS   

This was held on Sunday, November 16th at EMBC and was played over 46 boards.

The event is open to the winners or highly placed pairs of the club pairs competitions throughout the various clubs in Derbyshire.

Our congratulations go to Kathryn and John Shaw who were 3rd in this event (out of 24 pairs) with a score of 60.47%, having led at the half-way stage with a score of 65%.

DECEMBER 4th 2014

Congratulations to John Gould & Glyn MacArthur who won the competition with a score of 62.55%.

Colin Butt & Jean Pick were second (60.80%) and Deena Smith & Janet Bates were third (59.55%).

A total of 31 pairs entered the event. We were pleased to see a number of Wednesday morning players taking part and we hope to see them again at more evening sessions.
