Richmond is twinned with Konstanz, on the edge of Lake Constance in Germany (we are also twinned with Fontainebleu in France!). During lockdown we played regular events on Realbridge together with, and against, the members of Konstanz Bridge Club. We have maintained that relationship and they have now invited us to take part in their Pub Bridge event on Sunday April 14th. This is very similar in concept to our own cafe bridge event - playing 6 rounds at 6 different venues. See this flyer with some info about the event & I will update this page as I have more info. Konstanz Bridge Club also plays on Monday and Wednesday evenings (from 19:00) and players would be welcome to join those sessions too.

We will keep 20 places (10 pairs) blocked for participants from Richmond until 15 February, but the sooner you/your members register the better. It will of course be possible to register after 15 February for everyone interested, as long as places will be available.

I have also invited Konstanz to send a contingent to our own cafe bridge event on Tuesday, June 18th (save the date in your diary !)

Please note that everyone will be making their own travel arrangements - but I will work with my counterpart in Konstanz to see if we can obtain a "group rate" at any of these hotels. The best way to get to Konstanz is via a flight to Zurich and then a train (approx 1 hour). We have been recommended to try one of the following hotels (in three separate price brackets).

1) Steigenberger Inselhotel, beautifully located on the lake yet very close to all the venues.

2) Viva Sky, downtown, with a beautiful roof terrace and breakfast room

3) Ibis Hotel Konstanz is on the other side of the Rhine from downtown but still walkable.
