Paul has an incredible following at the club and all of his previous seminars have been very well attended.  He is simply a fantastic teacher and his classes are always brilliantly structured but also extremely good fun. I am told he is about to publish a sequel to the wonderful "Control the Bidding " Each session  will cost £18.00 for members, £20.00 for visitors, payable on the day.  Start time 10.30am and we hope to  finish by 1.30pm latest

CAFE BRIDGE 2018
CAFE BRIDGE 2018

Book now for our  unforgettable Cafe Bridge on Tuesday June 19 registration time 10.00am at the Whittaker Ellis Suite in the Richmond Old Town Hall. The club are very proud to hold the record of the  best attended  Cafe Bridge in the UK  and we are  hoping that this year we may beat last years record. As usual Lee Byram has been trawling the high  street picking out the best restaurants for you to lunch in and we have already a fine selection ranging from Carluccio's, Buenos Aires steak house, Bills, Jackson Rye to name a few. Lee returns from the States at the end of April and will be finalising arrangements when we will publish the entire list of eateries.  Organised as always by the wonderful Victor Lesk and his team with scores  entered electronically by players in-running on their smartphones using the BriAn app-based scoring system. This allows us to announce a result very soon after the last board is played. If you have not come across BriAn before, you can find out more here.

The cost per person is £30.00 and I am sure irrespective of the  weather we will have a wonderful day, however we have had brilliant weather the last two events, long may it continue. To book please click Book Cafe Bridge 2018

This year as the club is a registered charity we will use funds to teach and promote junior bridge. We are keen to ensure that this great game continues to be played in the future and the club's charitable status will hopefully allow us to get teachers into local schools and teach children at the club for a nominal charge.

WELCOME TO RICHMOND BRIDGE CLUB
WELCOME TO RICHMOND BRIDGE CLUB

Richmond Bridge Club is housed in the old Bowling Club Pavilion in Cambridge Park, nestling between Richmond and Twickenham in South-West London. The Clubhouse and the Club are now dedicated solely to Bridge.

We offer a full range of duplicate bridge playing facilities from Monday to Friday, some Saturday Evenings and Sunday afternoons. The club also offers lessons for players of all standards to learn bridge as a beginner or to improve their bridge with various Refresher and Intermediate courses. Afternoon sessions start promptly at 1.45pm (start-time on Sundays is 2.30pm); in the evenings, play begins at 7.30pm. Special events are often held at weekends. The Club is affiliated to the Surrey County Bridge Association and the English Bridge Union.

Computer-dealt hands (with printed hand copies available after play) and the "Bridgemate" wireless scoring system (giving you instant results as you play) are used for all sessions.

The Clubhouse, extensively refurbished in 2002, is now probably one of the finest in Surrey and we can accommodate 34-35 tables.

HOLIDAY TO VARNA

Richmond Bridge Club in association with BridgeLife are pleased to announce our first bridge holiday abroad!
We are going to the beautiful city of Varna, Bulgaria at the beginning of September when the weather is normally a very pleasant 18-26 °C.This holiday is tailored for all bridge players, however, the most  important thing is to have a pleasant time in a not too competitive environment. No partner is neccessary.

BridgeLife's founder is our guest teacher and international player Stefan Skorchev. He has experience running bridge holidays for the Acol Bridge Club and ran a similar holiday to Varna in September last year. Pictures can be found here.  Accompanying Stefan on this trip will be our popular teacher James Thrower.
Stefan & James will be running a series of seminars aimed at improving your game and will be at your disposal to discuss hands on this trip.
Costs sharing a double/twin  room £580 per person.  Double room for single occupancy £750 per person. Sharing a junior suite £750 per person. (Flights not included) Full details will be sent out on Email shortly however at this stage we are gauging interest. Could you please click here and register your interest if you would like to go on this wonderful holiday.

PARKING
PARKING

We have a new sign to help you know where to park in the Bowling Club.  When you enter  the car park and  see this sign facing the entrance you know that you cannot park in that row. When not applicable we hope to turn it round so that the words are no longer showing as you come in but are facing the car park spaces themselves. Some of you have got confused by this. The sign ONLY APPLIES if you can see the words when you drive in to the car park.

LATE ARRIVALS
LATE ARRIVALS

All players should be seated at least 10 minutes before the session starts. Arriving late without warning is rude, and should be avoided if at all possible. If you are delayed en-route to a session, please be sure to call and tell us so that we may reserve space for you in the movement (or inform your waiting partner), otherwise you risk a wasted journey.

NO 1 AGAIN (7 IN A ROW)
NO 1 AGAIN (7 IN A ROW)

I am  delighted to tell you that, that for the 7th year in succession  we  are again the best attended affiliated club in the country. (2010-2016). Please see EBU website for the list of clubs. It looks like we may be creating some sort of record so long may it continue. We know this would not be possible without the support of our incredibly loyal and wonderful members. We will continue to work as hard as possible to maintain the high level of service you so deserve.

EVENING PARKING
EVENING PARKING

Please note we are now allowed to park in the bowling club car park week days from 7.00pm. We are keen to be good neighbours and if you use the car park you will leave more spaces for local residents. If you cannot park in the car park please park on the bowling club side of the road. Do not park on the residential side of the  road or in Fairlawns (the small crescent on the left). We appreciate your help.
