Welcome to Richmond Bridge Club the most popular and successful EBU affiliated club in the country. Richmond Bridge club has been the No.1 club in the country for 8 consecutive years and we hope we are creating some sort of record. The club is housed in the old Bowling Club Pavilion in Cambridge Park, nestling between Richmond and Twickenham in South-West London. The Clubhouse, extensively refurbished in 2002, is now probably one of the finest in Surrey and can accommodate 36-37 tables.
We offer a full range of duplicate bridge playing facilities from Monday to Friday, some Saturday Evenings and Sunday afternoons. The club also offers lessons for players of all standards to learn bridge as a beginner or to improve their bridge with various Refresher and Intermediate courses. Afternoon sessions start promptly at 1.45pm (start-time on Sundays is 2.30pm) and in the evenings, play begins at 7.30pm. Special events are often held at weekends. The Club is affiliated to the Surrey County Bridge Association and the English Bridge Union.
Computer-dealt hands (with printed hand copies available after play) and the "Bridgemate" wireless scoring system (giving you instant results as you play) are used for all sessions.
Richmond BridgeClub is a charitable incorporated organisation - charity no. 1175613 Registered in England - company no. CE012010

This year as the club is a registered charity we will use funds to teach and promote junior bridge in addition to giving a portion of our profits to Princess Alice Hospice in the memory of Richard Millard and John Balson. We are keen to ensure that this great game continues to be played in the future and the club's charitable status will hopefully allow us to get teachers into local schools and teach children at the club for a nominal charge.
The University of Stirling is launching the ‘Keep Bridge Alive’ campaign to establish the Sociology of Bridge and contribute to the sustainability of the game. The campaign runs from 4 February to 31 March 2019. Today, fewer people are playing bridge and there is a fear within our bridge community that the game will become extinct if we don’t recruit a new generation of players. As players we know that bridge is great for our well-being, for healthy ageing and for social connection, but we're failing to communicate and demonstrate these benefits beyond the bridge world in ways that entice others to join our bridge community. One of the problems is that not enough younger people are taking up the game, and we’re all getting older – so the time is right for us to develop research to address this issue of a declining bridge community. There is a crowd funding campaign in place to raise funds, every penny counts, no matter how small, donations help the campaign spread the message and mobilise. Please click here to join the crowd funding appeal See Crowd Funding Page

Our next destination is Lecce, Italy. The holiday will take place between the 2nd and 9th of July 2019 (7 nights).
Lecce is the capital of the province of Lecce and arguably the most interesting tourist destination in the region of Puglia, Southern Italy. The historic city was founded about 2000 years ago and is commonly known as "The Florence of the South". For our stay, we have selected the 4* 8Piuhotel, which is the best-rated hotel in Lecce on most of the reservation websites, exceeding the customer satisfaction for the five-star hotels in town.

All players should be seated at least 10 minutes before the session starts. Arriving late without warning is rude, and should be avoided if at all possible. If you are delayed en-route to a session, please be sure to call and tell us so that we may reserve space for you in the movement (or inform your waiting partner), otherwise you risk a wasted journey.
Please note we are now allowed to park in the bowling club car park week days from 7.00pm. We are keen to be good neighbours and if you use the car park you will leave more spaces for local residents. If you cannot park in the car park please park on the bowling club side of the road. Do not park on the residential side of the road or in Fairlawns (the small crescent on the left). We appreciate your help.
