1  NAME

1.1 The name of the Association shall be "The Renfrewshire Bridge League", hereinafter referred to as "the league"

2  OBJECTS AND POWERS

2.1 The Objects of the league shall be the development of the game of Bridge in Renfrewshire, subject to the rules of Bridge approved by the Scottish Bridge Union.

2.2 The League shall, for the purpose of its objects, have all the usual powers of an association including thatof the purchaase, sale or lease of any subjects, heritable or moveable, borrowing of moneywith or without security and to enter in to all contracts normally entered in to by such an associoation in the ordinary course of trade.

3. MEMBERSHIP

3.1 Membership of the League shall be open to all Renfrewshire Bridge Clubs that are members of the Scottish Bridge Union or to Bridge Clubs that have their premises in Renfrewshire or that have at least three quarters of their members residing within the boundaries of Renfrewshire as defined in 1921.

3.2  Application for membership of the league shall be made in writing to the Secretary of the League by the applicant club. The Secretary shall then inform each member club of the application.Objections to the addmission to the League of the proposed member shall be made in writing to the Secretary the grounds for the  objection. The applications and objections if any shall be decided by a meeting of the Committee.The Committee shall have the power to call on an objector to substantiate his objections but in any event the decision of the Committee shall be fully binding to the members of the League.

3.3 There shall be at all times be kept and made available for inspection a list of names and addresses of the members of the league.

3.4 Persons taking part in activities organised by the League must belong to a member club, with the exception of those taking part in the Annual Congress or other such activities as the committee shall decide persons not belonging to a member club can participate in.
