Minutes of 2008 Annual General Meeting

Date of Meeting: Tuesday 15^th April

The meeting was opened by the chairman Colin O’Hara at 7.15 pm with 56 members is attendance. Apologies for absence were received from John and Verna Dent, Colin Hill and Mike and Peggy Pickup.

The minutes of the 2007 AGM were reviewed for adoption. The minutes were adopted – John Tennant proposing and George Hawkins seconding.

The meeting moved on to the Officers’ reports which were circulated before the start of the meeting. Colin ran through the chairman's report and Roy Drage the Treasurer's report, the Auditors report and the Secretary's report. No questions arose, so the meeting adopted the reports. - Nick De Costa proposing and Brenda Pratt seconding.

The meeting then went on to election of officers.  There had been no new nominations for the committee, so it was proposed that the committee be re-elected en bloc.  This was proposed by Peter Pratt and seconded by Brenda Pratt. The committee continues therefore as below:

The meeting was closed by Colin O’Hara who thanked the committee for their hard work over the year and all members for their continuing support of the club. Thanks to all the committee were proposed from the floor - Peter Pratt proposing and Brenda Pratt seconding.  Meeting closed at 7.30 pm.

 Sunday night Bridge is now suspended for the summer. We'll be looking to start again in Octobber

Please note the following differences from a normal club night:

• There is no entrance fee.
• Partners are not required. They will be arranged on the night
• We welcome bringing along people who, whilst knowing the basic rules, are inexperienced in attending normal duplicate nights
• There are no prizes awarded.

The aim of the evening is to enjoy a relaxing night out with convivial company. We hope to see as many as can make it
