Opening the Hall
27th October - Jo Rose
REGAL BRIDGE CLUB was formed in the late 1980s by a group of 16 people who had attended bridge classes at the Wilmslow Guild. They began by meeting and playing in each other's homes but, as membership grew, moved through a series of venues and acquired the name 'Regal' as they did so. The last move was to Chorley Village Hall (above) in 1994. The club continues to meet here on Thursday evening, each week.
Several of the original members still attend regularly, and the emphasis continues to be on friendliness, enjoyment, and relaxation. Average attendance is around 10 tables.
