Holiday Weekend: Doubles: 1st -3rd August 2008, Three Counties Hotel, Hereford
This holiday weekend is aimed at bridge improvers or social bridge players who are keen to learn more about the modern duplicate game. Morning Seminars will explore Penalty and Takeout Doubles in more depth, with supervised play and practice hands. Relaxed and sociable duplicate sessions in the evenings. The hotel is just a mile from the centre of the historic Cathedral City of Hereford with access to the Wye Valley and the Belmont Golf Course. 2 days B&B, with Evening Meal, Sunday lunch and Sherry Reception. £196 per person.  Christine Duckworth and Mike Eden are offering a range of events for novices at Young Chelsea.
Every Monday evening from 7:30-10:00 they have a supervised play session which offers help and support with bidding and play. The cost is £7 members, £9 non-members and free to bona fide students.
On the first Thursday of each month they run a novice duplicate. It starts at 7pm with wine and cheese, followed by a gentle duplicate with a friendly director, for an all-in charge of £10 per player (£5 for bone fide students). Master points are issued.
