Charity Event April 2016

My sincere  thanks to all those who contributed to or supported our Chaity event on the 6th April 2016 in aid of the Royal Hospital Donnybrook. My thanks to the members of the RDS Bridge Club,  to the Committee members,  to our Tournament Directior and to the staff of the RDS who all worked so hard to ensure that everything was in place on the day.  It was a very successful night attended by 220 bridge players,  and it raised over 8,000 euro for the Friends of the Royal Hospital. The money will go towards the purchase of a second ambulance for the Hospital.  More pictures to follow....

Christmas Party - Dec 2015
Christmas Party - Dec 2015

Christmas is the Season of Joy and Goodwill and a time for celebration.  Our Christmas Party was held on the 16th December 2015 in the members section of  the RDS. 66 members attended.  On arrival,  members were greeted with a glass of mulled wine (or soft drink),  before taking their seats for  the chrismas dinner in the Thomas Prior Room -  a fitting venue for the warm, vibrant and festive atmosphere of the evening.  Once again Nick Frewin made the knitted creations that decorated each table and which were raffled at the end of the dinner. From all reports received,  the evening was a resounding success.  Sincere thanks to all the members who attended,  to the catering staff, to Susan Cox and Gerard Whelan and to the Bridge Committee who worked so hard to make the evening enjoyable for us all...... Charity Night April 2015

Our Charity Night held on the 15th April raised €6,600 for the Royal Hospital Donnybrook.  Our sincere thanks to all those members and friends who worked tirelessly on the day to make it such a success.  Our thanks also to the RDS,  to the sponsors and all those who donated prizes on the night and finally to everyone who attended and supported the occasion in any way.

A letter of thanks was received from Josephine Fitzpatrick,  on behalf of the Friends of The Royal Hospital Donnybrook...."As you know,  our aim was to cover the cost of one of two "Functional Electrical Stimulators" required by the Hospital.  In fact,  we  raised sufficient funds to purchase the two units which was a brilliant result and very much appreciated by the Hospital Board....... May I extend heartfelt thanks to the committee for all their work,  to our sponsors,  and to the members who gave prizes,  helped with the morning preparations and supported the evening so wholeheartedly.  It was a job very well done'....
