25th Anniversary

On Tuesday 22nd November 2016, Prestbury Duplicate Bridge Club held a special 25th Anniversary Dinner at the Prestbury Golf Club. There was a good turnout of 59 members and guests, including most of the founding committee (Margaret Broughton, Jean McKillop, Irene Waters and Anne Norbury). The other founding committee member, Margaret Owen, was unable to attend the dinner. Many of the other guests were founding members of the club as shown below:

Drinks were served in the Golf Club bar from 7 to 7:30pm followed by a delicious meal. Margaret Broughton made a short speech thanking the members for their continued support in helping to make the Club successful over the last 25 years.

Lesley Taylor, the present Secretary, welcomed Alastair Kennedy from the East Cheshire Hospice and John Houlker, the present Treasurer, presented him with a cheque. John said that by the end of this year, the Bridge Club would have donated in the region of £81,000 to the Hospice over the last 25 years.

At the end of the meal, the members made their way to the bar area for two hours of fun bridge with prizes.
