The venue for the club is the Phoenix Sports & Social Club, Brinsworth Pavilion, Pavilion Lane off Bawtry Road, Rotherham, S60 5PA. There is ample on-site, off-road parking. The club holds two sessions of duplicate pairs each week on Tuesday and Friday (or very occasionally Thursday) evenings throughout the year. The sessions start at 7.00 p.m. and finish at 10.30 p.m. Heats are staged of the simultaneous pairs events organised by the EBU, EcatsBridge, etc. and there are annual competitions for the Club Pairs Championship, the Dave Lapwood Trophy and the Sheila Maw Trophy. Separate Tuesday and Friday ladder competitions are run with prizes being awarded to the three players winning the most Master Points each quarter and over the whole of the year (September - August).
The sessions are held either in the Phoenix Suite on the first floor of the Pavilion or occasionally in the Harry Taylor Lounge on the ground floor. Unfortunately there is no disabled access to the Phoenix Suite. The Phoenix Sports & Social Club has a licensed bar.
Table money is currently £1.50 per player for members and £3 for non-members. For the simultaneous pairs events, there are additional entry fees set by the organising bodies (no table money is charged for these events). All entry fees are collected during the course of each session. Anyone wishing to become a member of Phoenix Bridge Club (as an associate member of the Phoenix Sports & Social Club) can do so at any time of the year through the club secretary, Dave Lapwood The subscription is currently £15 per annum due 1st October.
