Whittaker Trophy |
The competition for the Whittaker Trophy was held on 19 September and was won by Roy Holdsworth and Pat Yates with a score of 58.33%. Runners up were Lilian Carefoot and Nancy Tuck with a score of 57.09% and the players in third place were Stuart Eastwood and Emily Ainsworth, scoring 56.83%.
Nan Whittaker had been a keen bridge player as well as a very competent golfer and was well known in the area.

June Dobson Rose Bowl |
The competition for the June Dobson Rose Bowl was held on Monday 13 June and the worthy winners were Kathleen Jones and Gill Saunders (pictured) with a score of 63.99%. In second place with a score of 59.82% were Keith Thompson and Marianne Conway, whilst tying for third position were Ian Entwisle with Joe Bryson and Keith Pilcher with Margaret Vinten with a score of 58.04%. Altogether sixteen pairs took part in the competition.
June Dobson had been a regular player in Penwortham and after her death, her husband Alan presented the Rose Bowl to the club in her memory. Alan continued to play bridge until his death in recent years and he is remembered fondly by present members.

Spring Trophy |
The competition for the Spring Trophy was held on Thursday 21 April. This is our only competition held on a Thursday. Sixteen pairs competed and the worthy winners were Ruth and Bryan Burgess, pictured either side of the President of the club, Lilian Carefoot. They scored 62.46% and were closely followed by Lawrence Hunt and Dave Parkin with a score of 60.63%. Edwin and Mary Porter were in third place with another commendable score of 59.86%.

Haworth Rose Bowl |
The competition for the Haworth Rose Bowl was played on 15 February 2016. It was won by Ian Entwisle and Joe Bryson with a score of 65.61%, closely followed by Gill Saunders and Keith Thompson in second place with a score of 65.22%. Edwin and Mary Porter were in third place with a score of 60.23%.

The Amy Whiteside Cup |
The competition for the Amy Whiteside Cup was held on 16 November 2015 and was won by Brendan and Sharon Forde with a tremendous score of 69.58%. The runners up were Lilian Carefoot and Nancy Tuck, also with an impressive score of 63.93% and in third place were Marion and Anthony Chappell with 58.93%.
