British Summer Sim Pairs 2016

The confusion over the boards for this event has now been resolved and the competition scored. The pairs affected in the first round were awarded Average + (both sides) and then the boards were played and scored as normal by subsequent pairs. This was agreed by the EBU as the correct method.

Split Ties

The committee has decided to follow the EBU recommendation of a point a board count back in the event of a split tie occurring in a competition when a prize is to be awarded. Therefore the Joan Brown Cup 2016 has been won by Heather and Liz (30 points) with Bill and Ken in second place (24 points).

Dorothy Gill-Carey
Dorothy Gill-Carey

Dorothy Gill-Carey, a founder member of the Penventon Bridge Club, celebrates her 90th birthday this month. We would like to take this opportunity on behalf of all members of the club to wish Dorothy a Happy Birthday and send our congratulations.

Dorothy was a bridge teacher for 30 years and plays regularly. Ten current players were also original club members in May 1993. With energy to spare Dorothy runs her b&b business (9 bedrooms) and we look forward to seeing Dorothy at the bridge club for many years.
