Mercury is a luxury narrow boat equipped with the latest technology for your pleasure and safety.
First of all - no gas. The heating and cooking is all powered by diesel - so only one fuel. The oven is a fan assisted small but high powered diesel unit which is twinned with a diesel powered ceramic hob. Both these Wallas units have safety features to prevent any misuse or danger to the operator. A microwave oven can be used for those 'ready' meals when time is short. There is also a barbeque that can be used on the canal bank on suitable days.
The central heating is primarily from a 7.5kW diesel boiler that will heat the boat and hot water for all your needs. The saloon (lounge) is heated by underfloor radiators that provide a lovely feel for your feet in the mornings and also a blown air matrix heater for cabin heating. Heating is also taken from the engine and there is an additional matrix heater providing warm air throughout the boat when cruising. There is really no problem with keeping warm even on the coldest days!
A large fridge and ice box will keep all your food items fresh during your trip. An extra 'cold box' is to be found under the floor taking advantage of the cool temperature of the boats metal hull. Good for keeping beer and wine cool.
There is an ample supply of 240V sockets throughout the boat for chargers etc (but check on power of heated equipment, e.g. hairdriers, before use).
Sleeping arrangements are well set out for your holiday.
- 1 double bed - nominally 1200mm wide expandable to 1500mm wide.
- 2 single beds in the second bedroom both 600 wide
- 2 singles that convert to a 1500mm wide double in the saloon/dining area.
Toilet and bathroom facilities
- A through bathroom holds a full size shower, flush toilet and wash basin with illuminated mirror. Two side doors provide air to permit clothes drying on the included drying line. (it does rain and we can't stop that happeing).
- A second flushing toilet complete with washbasin and illuminated mirror (can be used for shaving etc).
Storage facilities.
- Each bedroom has 1 wardrobe with internal lights and 6 large under-bed drawers.
- The lounge seats lift to reveal large storage spaces.
- The forward deck seats house hose pipes (for water supply), barbeque and other outdoor equipment
