STANDING RULES
ACBL Zero Tolerance Policy: Inappropriate Behavior includes: arguments, yelling at partner/others, foul language, inappropriate sexual comments, berating partners/others, excessive teaching, badgering, loud conversation, excessive talking during bidding, snapping cards. The Director is authorized to issue warnings, deduct points from the guilty party’s score, or disqualify the individual. Cheating will result in immediate suspension from the club. The director will take the appropriate action necessary to quell any and all disturbances.
Director Cooperation: All members are expected to cooperate with the director at all times. Call the director when a problem occurs. If you believe a ruling is incorrect, ask for a review. Do not argue with the director. The director will review the problem with you after the game or at a break. If you still feel the ruling is incorrect, you may file a grievance to our Grievance Committee Chairman. The director is the only person responsiblefor the game you are attending.
Cell Phones: Members are encouraged to leave all cell phones in the “off” or “vibrate” mode. Should you have an emergency call forthcoming, please notify the Director.
Name Tags: All members are encouraged to wear their name tags at the bridge club. Prominently displayed name tags positively promote a member friendly attitude – something we want our club known for.
Psychic Bids: The ACBL judges that the excessive, frivolous or unsportsmanlike use of psychic bidding is disruptive to the game, and may make the offenders subject to a penalty. A maximum of just one psychic bid per session is allowed.
