WELCOME TO OXFORD BRIDGE LEARNING
Oxford Bridge Learning is an independent organisation which was set up by Melinda Jordan in February 2009 with the aim of spreading enthusiasm for the game of bridge. OBL offers bridge teaching through lessons and play sessions. We have courses for complete beginners with no knowledge of cards through to those for advanced players.
We run 10 week courses, short courses, workshops and play sessions. If you are interested in taking part in one of these, please email us. Alternatively you are welcome just to drop in to our Monday evening [7 - 10pm] relaxed duplicate or Thursday morning [10am - 12 noon] supervised play. Both of these sessions take place at the premises of the Oxford Bridge Club, 147 Banbury Road, Oxford, OX2 7AN. |

| Morrie Marsh Novices Competition |
Congratulations to Juliet Johnson and Alasdair MacDonald (shown here receiving their trophy from John Briggs) on winning the Morrie Marsh trophy on Monday 16th April. They came top with a clear lead of almost 10%. Very well done.
In second place were Fay Mogridge and Nicky Gregg.
Morrie Marsh taught at Oxford Bridge Club for many years supporting beginners and learners in their early years of playing bridge. The trophy was given to the Club for this novice competition. |

| New Cue Bids and Splinters course |
Cue Bids and Splinters
This new 2-day short course, presented by John Briggs and Peter Litchfield, is suitable for club players who would like to introduce more sophistication into their bidding as well as those who would like to revise the use of these techniques. It will help you to bid more accurately, particularly in competitive auctions and when exploring for slam possibilities.
It will be run over 2 separate days, Sunday 29th April and Saturday 12th May, at the Oxford Bridge Club.
Click anywhere in this box for more information.
To book for one or both days, please use our automated booking form, or contact Sandra as above. |

| PLAY DUPLICATE WITH OBL |
We run "Monday evening friendly bridge" jointly with the Oxford Bridge Club.
This is a relaxed and friendly weekly duplicate. Students of OBL members of OBC, and visitors are welcome. This is a practice duplicate for people wishing to improve their bridge or try out something new. The table money is £3.50 (£4.50 for visitors).
There are also Beginners Tables on the first Monday of each month, especially for our Bridge for All students (NOTE - this is a practice session, not a lesson.)
On Thursday mornings we run supervised "Learn and Play" duplicate bridge at the Oxford Bridge Club, from 10 am to 12 pm.
This weekly session is open to all improvers who know basic Acol and can play at a reasonable speed. The event is run as a normal duplicate but the director can be called for advice at any time, particularly with hands that are difficult to bid. Table money is £4.00 and there is a host system, so you don't need to come with a partner. |
