PLAY DUPLICATE WITH OBL

We run Monday evening friendly bridge jointly with the
Oxford Bridge Club 7 - 9.30pm

This is a relaxed and friendly weekly duplicate. Students of OBL members of OBC,  and visitors are welcome.  This is a practice duplicate for people wishing to improve their bridge or try out something new.
The table money is £4 (£6 for visitors).

There are also Beginners Tables sessions especially for our Bridge for All students
(NOTE - this is a practice session, not a lesson.)

On Thursday mornings we run supervised Learn and Play duplicate bridge at the Oxford Bridge Club, from 10 am to 12 pm.

This weekly session is open to all improvers who know basic Acol and can play at a reasonable speed.
The event is run as a normal duplicate but the director can be called for advice at any time, particularly with hands that are difficult to bid.
Table money is £4 (£5 from 1st June 2013) and there is a host system, so you don't need to come with a partner.

We desperately need new hosts
OBL is looking for new hosts for Thursday morning sessions.  If you are interested please get in touch.  In the meantime, here is something that one of our long time hosts wrote recently.
I have been a host now for I guess about 3 years, I have never regretted doing it.

I remember the times when I wished I was able to go to Oxford Bridge Club and be guaranteed a game with someone I didn't know, very scary but good for your confidence. Think how grateful people are for this facility.  Oxford Bridge Learning are grateful too as it helps encourage their students.

O.K. if you have to get there and you're not needed you just go home and have your coffee at home instead.

It's also a time to repay a little of what we have gained from OBL and the hours of enjoyment we will get from bridge for rest of our lives.
I have not been asked to write this but I would like to encourage people to help as a way of saying 'thank you' and still enjoying yourself encouraging others.
