Additional information about Fundraising

Our construction company has made very good progress with the project to date. You can see the progress in the photos which are regularly updated here.

The project is under considerable financial pressure and we are asking for your support as a club member. Our aim in this fundraising initiative is to raise £75,000 from our 420 plus club members. We are tracking progress on a thermometer at the club and on our website.

The reason for the financial pressures are firstly that we failed to secure access to our building from the car park at the rear. It is therefore going to take longer and be more expensive to carry out the project with access only from Banbury Road. Secondly, there have been some unforeseeable costs which relate to the foundations of the south wall and part of the original social area of the building which turned out to have inadequate foundations. There are also some areas where our ambitions have encountered higher than forecast costs, for example to provide for a high standard of audio-visual equipment.

We welcome contributions of any size. There are multiple ways in which members can support the club financially:

Foundation Life Membership

There is a significant benefit to the club if members sign up for Foundation Life Membership. A donation of £1,000 or more (ticking the gift aid box adds 25% to the value of the donation) allows a member to become a Foundation Life Member and get free annual membership for life. Such members will be listed on a board at the club to acknowledge their generosity.

Donations

We are happy to receive donations direct into the charity's bank account. For direct donations please don’t hesitate to contact the chairman (chair@oxfordbridgeclub.com) or the treasurer (treasurer@oxfordbridgeclub.com) who will be very happy to help.

Just Giving

You may also contribute via our Just Giving page. The Just Giving organisation help by carrying the burden of much of the administration and also allow anonymous donations to be made.  Have a look at the page about Oxford Bridge Club at Just Giving by clicking the logo:

or go straight to the donation page for Oxford Bridge Club to make a donation.

NB: If you simply search the JustGiving website for "Oxford Bridge Club", don't click on the first entry under "Charities", but scroll down to the "Campaigns" section and click on the "Restoration of Oxford Bridge Club" entry to take you to the correct page.

Thank you

As with all fundraising schemes, we would wish for as many members as possible to make the best contribution that they are able to give, as we are not seeking donations from outside the membership itself. Please don’t forget to sign up to gift aid if this is applicable to you, as this increases your contribution significantly!

Thank you for supporting your club in any way you can, and if you cannot support it financially, thank you for being a member. A particular thank you to those that have already made a donation.
