TEAMS OF FOUR SUMMER LEAGUE 2016
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Teams should consist of four to eight players all of whom must be members of the NCBA. In exceptional circumstances, and with the prior approval of the League Secretary, teams may field additional players. However, no player may play for more than one team within any one season.
Each team will play every other team in its division and the winning team from Division One will be awarded the trophy as Champions of the Teams of Four League. Promotion and relegation will take place at the end of the season and will depend upon the number of divisions and the number of teams in each division.
Each round has a finishing date. If there are difficulties in arranging a date to suit both teams then the home captain is expected to offer three alternative dates for the match before the finishing date. These must be in different weeks and on differing days and the away captain must accept one of these alternatives. The League Secretary must approve any exceptions.
All matches must be played and results returned by 30th September 2016.
In the event of a match not being played, a non-offending team will be awarded the average of their current score or 12 VPs, whichever is the greater. If both teams are at fault then each team will score 0 VPs.
Matches will consist of 24 boards and home pairs will be interchanged for the second half. Scoring will be by IMPs converted to Victory Points.
Matches may be played morning, afternoon or evening on the agreement of both Captains.
Please note that this completition is not part of the knock out competition.
Master Points will be awarded to the appropriate County scale and it is essential that result slips are filled in completely and returned promptly to the League Secretary.
The competition will be to EBU Laws with a General Licence. Rulings will be given by the Chief Tournament Director and appeals may be made through the Appeals Chairman.
