Learn to Play Bridge
Learn to Play BridgeBridge is a game played by intelligent and interesting people. Some treat it is a challenge, aiming to improve their game in the same way as a golfer who longs to reduce his handicap. Others, and by far the majority, find it a stimulating and relaxing way of meeting and socializing with other interesting people. Winning is fun, to be sure, but enjoyment is paramount.
What we do
What we do

North Kent Bridge is run by Chris Burton and colleagues. We are here to:

  • Teach contract bridge to new players in a welcoming and informal environment;
  • Teach existing players to play better and with more understanding; and
  • Provide opportunities for new players to enjoy a friendly game.

We make learning the game a sociable and fun event, once per week, and we provide "Learn & Play" sessions throughout the course where you can practise what you have learnt.

Bridge Lessons in North Kent
If you live in the area of Gravesend, Dartford, Sevenoaks, Hartley, Meopham, Rochester then you are only a short distance away. All bridge lessons will be held at Chris Burton's house in New Barn, near Longfield.
When Can I Start?

Our main lessons start each year in October. We keep a waiting list of all prospective students who contact us throughout the year and we make a note of the days and times that you would prefer and arrange the schedule to best suit everyone involved. We will then call you when we arrange the next set of lessons.

However, if you want to start learning right away, please contact us and discuss the possibility of joining in with a course that has already started. We can often accommodate late joiners one way or another.

Please get in touch with us if you want to learn to play bridge. You do not need to make any commitment at this stage.

Learn to Play

For those who have little or no knowledge of the game, join our Beginners' Course.

Start Learning NOW!

We started two new Beginners' Courses recently, both of which have space for a new player. You have a choice of daytime or evening lessons.

Please contact Chris Burton (see below) if you would like to join a current course or if you wish to be added to our waiting list for courses starting at another time. You will not be making any commitment at this stage.

Improve Your Play
If you already play bridge but want to be a better and more confident player, join our weekly Intermediate Class which started recently on Wednesday evenings. Contact Chris Burton for further details.
