Wednesday afternoon is now so very popular and as we can only cater for 11 tables,  the first people arriving will get a seat but partners need to arrive as well, to absolutely guarantee play. Tables will be allocated on a first come first served basis. As players gain experience we would encourage them to try Thursday evenings as the next step to playing in competitions on Mondays and Tuesdays. Associate members are entitled to play on Thursdays so please have a go!

Do you want to try out duplicate bridge - once tasted there is no turning back.

Partners guaranteed on first Wednesday (themed bridge) - other Wednesdays it is better to try to arrange partners in advance to avoid the possibilty of being the odd one out and being unable to play.

Each Wednesday afternoon the session is aimed specifically at people who wish to try out duplicate bridge with others who are also fairly new to this form of the game. Pre-dealt hands used with computer scoring and duplicate format. At the end of the session results and hands are published on the web.  On the first Wednesday we provide a themed handout on the website with bidding tips and commentary on four pre-set hands.  The hands are selected from the EBU teacher's association's published handsets.

These Wednesday events have proved very popular and are open to non club members who wish to give duplicate a try.  If interested use the e-mail link via the "information " and then "contact us" form. New players will  be welcome if there is room.  If you get hooked by bridge and want to continue, you can become an Associate Member for £5 p.a. and then also play on Fridays and Thursday evenings.  We encourage new members to progress to Thursday evenings as a route to full membership and to playing in the competitions on Mondays and Tuesday (£10 p.a.).

Wednesdays - Relaxed and Easy Play.  £3-00 including tea,coffee and biscuits usually 21 boards.

Thursday - Friendly play but a bit faster - usually 24 boards.
