Playing other clubs

INTERCLUB TEAMS OF EIGHT  The season started in May 2016.  The club did well in the three leagues last season  - well done to all players.

BOARDS TO BE CENTRED?

Please keep the board in correct position to avoid misboarding.

East, West and South to make sure that North keeps the board centred during the play.

PROMPT START?

Please aim to be seated prior to 7.25pm.  The director can then set up the movement for a 7-30pm start.

Absent players at 7-25pm risk being turned away.  

If delayed please ring the club before 7-25pm on 01604 717019 as the movement will be laid out to match seated players.

Main Points from 2014 AGM

Summary of the main points from the club AGM held on 9th April 2014 - ( The full minutes can be viewed by clicking this link which will bring a word document tab up on your screen which you can open in Word).

  • Overall like for like membership is up by more than 19%. Over the course of the year we had 88 full members and 19 Associate Members
  • Attendance on all days played was up on last year by 7.5%, club to introduce Friday afternoon bridge
  • The Finances of the club are in very good shape and we have an ongoing financial cash trading surplus on the year with substantial reserves that may be useful in searching for new premises
  • We are looking for new premises.  This will require a lot of effort from club members and the committee. Any move will be subject to approval by the membership.
  • The proposed merger with Kingsley did not happen.
  • Teams News - the A Team were third in Division 1, the B team was fifth in  Division 2 and our C team was 5th in Division 3S
  • We have extended our Directors and Scorers and provided training . More volunteers will be welcome to widen the pool of available talent
