Playing other clubs

INTERCLUB TEAMS OF EIGHT  The season started in May 2016.  The club did well in the three leagues last season  - well done to all players.

BOARDS TO BE CENTRED?

Please keep the board in correct position to avoid misboarding.

East, West and South to make sure that North keeps the board centred during the play.

We include in our club calendar local county events.

NCBA has a NEW WEB SITE 

 

PROMPT START?

Please aim to be seated prior to 7.25pm.  The director can then set up the movement for a 7-30pm start.

Absent players at 7-25pm risk being turned away.  

If delayed please ring the club before 7-25pm on 01604 717019 as the movement will be laid out to match seated players.

NORTHAMPTON BRIDGE CLUB

GOALS & ASPIRATIONS

·        To be a leading club in Northamptonshire by being -

o       The premier bridge club in the area attracting members within an 8 – 10 miles radius from the town

o       The club where anyone in this area wanting to play bridge will come to Northampton Bridge Club.

o       Represented on the County Committee with pairs playing for the County team

o       Equivalent to or better than Kettering/Stamford

o       A club like Kenilworth, Stratford or Coventry

·        To have an energetic, motivated and engaged management committee with, in addition,  members prepared to contribute in a positive manner as required

·        To be an outward looking club with

o       Pairs representing the club at regional and county events

·        To be welcoming to all standards of bridge

o       By promoting bridge as a pastime for all

·        To be a “Friendly club” that -

o       Has the highest standards of behaviour at the table

o       Is tolerant of weaker players

o       Enables players to find partners easily

o       Regularly have 8 or more tables playing on all club nights.

o       Has a much bigger membership than currently (Target of 150)

o       Provides an environment that enables continuous improvement for the members

o       Provides an environment where it is enjoyable to play bridge

o       Attracts “younger” players

o       Has a “modern” outlook
