In this month's newsletter we have news of classes starting in April and September, some local bridge events coming up and details of bridge weekends.

THURSDAY CLUB NEWS

At the suggestion of members a bridge clock/timer has been introduced at the Thursday afternoon session. Feedback has been very positive. Players seemed comfortable with the time allowed for the boards and it's helping to keep the session running to time.

Advance warning: No bridge on Thursday 22nd May as there are  council elections in the hall.

FRIDAY CLUB NEWS

Congratulations to Leif and Christina Hedberg who were recently presented with the 2013 Friday Year on Year trophy for most improved players.   Don't forget ANY Friday player can win this trophy.  All you have to do it improve your average from 2013 to end of 2014.  Everything to play for!

No bridge on Good Friday 18th April.

Classes for complete beginners will start in September with Sue and there will also be a 'Try Bridge' afternoon in the summer.  If you have any friends who might be interested in learning, get them to contact Sue on 01932 400009 or or email suehanrahan@yahoo.co.uk

Takeout Doubles Course

If any improver level students would like to join a course on Takeout Doubles, there are spaces in Jean’s Wednesday morning class, starting 30th April.

Harrold Schogger is organising two bridge weekends this year at the Chatsworth Hotel in Worthing.  If any one is interested in going to the second one, in October, email me at leigh@bridgeplayer.net and if there is enough interested I'll organise a group of us to go.  

We have been to Harolds weekends in the past and they are very friendly aned suitable for anyone with a little experience of duplicate bridge. i.e. Thursday and Friday club player and the more experienced Wednesday players.
