Night of the Stars 2013
Hosted by Richmond Bridge Club and raised £42,000 for:
  • Princess Alice Hospice gives outstanding end of life care to patients and support to their families and friends across a large part of Surrey, south west London and Middlesex.  All patient care and support is free of charge.  As a leading UK hospice, learning, teaching and research are also central to its work, and it delivers innovative care programmes to local and national audiences.
  • Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. Dementia affects 820,000 people in the UK. 25 million of the UK population have a close friend or family member with dementia. As well as the personal suffering, dementia costs the UK economy £23 billion a year, more than cancer and heart disease combined. Despite these figures, dementia research is desperately underfunded.
  • Footsteps for Africa is a small UK based charity that makes a very real difference to people living in desperately poor communities near Lake Victoria in Kenya. It is run entirely voluntarily and every penny raised goes to fund its work.  Footsteps provides the most vulnerable Kenyan children with the opportunity to reach their potential as individuals and become healthy, educated, self-sufficient and valuable members of their communities. This is achieved by building schools, funding the provision of medical facilities, child sponsorship and voluntary programmes.   Footsteps reminds us that every journey begins with a single footstep.
  • Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including childhood and adult leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.  Its life-saving research is focused on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running ground-breaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients.
An enormous thank you to everyone who has sponsored and donated to the Night of the Stars 2013:
