Convention Cards

A reminder from the  directors: If you are playing anything but very basic ACOL you and your partner both require the same printed convention card available for perusal by your opponents. The easiest way to achieve this is to download a card from the EBU by clicking  HERE  You can then modify it to your own system. If you are unable to download one for any reason there are also now some blank convention cards in the cupboard in the playing room.

On Monday, 18th December there was a Christmas celebration evening for the Improvers' class with drinks and nibbles followed by some relaxed bridge. Sallie Cheek, Stu Clarke, John Harland and Brian Medhurst have devoted every Monday evening to teaching this group of varying abilities; their skill and patience have meant that all of the students have made significant progress and many have moved on to playing in other club sessions. The members of the class presented the trainers with gifts and cards to thank them for all of their hard work and patience this year and are looking forward to the the next stage of the class in January.

R.I.P. Ann Fieldhouse.

We have just learned the sad news that Ann Fieldhouse died on Wednesday evening, 3rd May. She played bridge at the club for several years and was a popular player. Our commiserations go to her husband Phil Hickman and to her family and friends.
