Convention Cards

A reminder from the directors: If you are playing anything but very basic ACOL you and your partner both require the same printed convention card available for perusal by your opponents. The easiest way to achieve this is to download a card from the EBU by clicking HERE You can then modify it to your own system. If you are unable to download one for any reason there are also now some blank convention cards in the cupboard in the playing room.

Emily Southern

We are sorry to announce that Emily Southern passed away on Saturday June 4th 2011 aged 95. Together with a group of like-minded players, Emily was the Founder Member of the Newbury Bridge Club in 1953.

HICKO Cup Final - 2nd May 2011

Congratulations to Newbury B who won the HICKO Cup Final on 2nd May beating Swanmore 15-5.

Andrew Robson Trophy

Andrew Robson has kindly agreed to put his name to the trophy and therefore the competition will be known as the Andrew Robson Trophy.

The first period of the competition will be from October 2011 to December 2011.

· January to April

· September to December

A minimum number of results will be needed to qualify. In the first period October to December it will only be 4 due to there being only 9 Thursdays that will qualify. In subsequent periods the minimum number of Thursday results to qualify will be 8. Therefore if you have played the minimum number of qualifying Thursdays you will automatically be eligible, and we will then total all Thursday results and divide by thenumber of results and the highest average will be the winner.
