Welcome to Newbury Bridge Club! We run sessions for all level of players from beginners to experts. Both the Improvers and the Beginners on Monday evenings are Training Sessions. | Success for Newbury players |
Sue Oliver and Bill Wells came first in the Chiltern League Elimination Pairs Final which was played on Wednesday 22nd April. Well done to them. click for details
Our congratulations also go to Stuart Strachan and Eleanor Rice who played in the Pottage Cup final , Hampshire’s main pairs competition, on Sunday 26th April and finished a very close 3rd. They will now represent Hampshire in The Corwen Trophy playing the other County Championship Qualifiers in Telford at the end of May. Evelyne Thomas and Garry Townes have also qualified representing Wiltshire and we wish them all good luck.

| Thursday Evenings |
There will be bridge on every Thursday evening this year. The first week will be Pairs Championship, the third week Individual, the fourth week Teams. The fifth week when it occurs will be a Relaxed session.

These are still running so if you'd like to play Duplicate Bridge online you can sign up for them as for any other competition. Tuesday is at 2 pm and Saturday at 10 am. Cost is only £1 per session!

Opportunities
Bridge is an absorbing and fascinating hobby, good for the brain and a great way of making new friends.
Dates and Times: we run training sessions
- 7:00 to 9:30pm, on Mondays at the Westridge Studio at Highclere (a 10 minute drive from the centre of Newbury). Free parking on the premises.
Tutors: Sallie Cheek / John Harland/ Brian Medhurst
Session Types:
- First Year Course - The course follows the syllabus of the English Bridge Union’s “Bridge for All” programme. The full course which will be at least 36 session over three terms. New course starting in January 2027
- Improver Classes – these sessions consolidate and then build on the topics covered in the first year course
