Some people have received messages that this is full which is not true. This was because some names were in twice and some were crossed out but the computer still counted them. There are 29 entries and there are 40 places. You do not need a partner so it is better not to sign up as pairs. Also do not say you need a partner because you don’t. The entries have been tidied up but we still need 11 more people.

| Newbury success at the Madeira Congress |
Congratulations to Andrew and Mary Ferguson who finished 2nd in the Swiss Pairs at the EBU Winter congress held in Madeira this month. They obviously returned in form as they then won our heat of the Hampshire IBM Cup simultaneous pairs on 10th February, finishing 9th overall.

There will be bridge on every Thursday evening this year. The first week will be Pairs Championship, the third week Individual, the fourth week Teams. The fifth week when it occurs will be a Relaxed session.

These are still running so if you'd like to play Duplicate Bridge online you can sign up for them as for any other competition. Tuesday is at 2 pm and Saturday at 10 am. Cost is only £1 per session!

Bridge is an absorbing and fascinating hobby, good for the brain and a great way of making new friends.
Dates and Times: we run training sessions
- 7:00 to 9:30pm, on Mondays at the Westridge Studio at Highclere (a 10 minute drive from the centre of Newbury). Free parking on the premises.
Tutors: Sallie Cheek / John Harland/ Brian Medhurst
Session Types:
- First Year Course - The course follows the syllabus of the English Bridge Union’s “Bridge for All” programme. The full course which will be at least 36 session over three terms. Will start later in 2025.
- Improver Classes – these sessions consolidate and then build on the topics covered in the first year course
