Bulletin

We will have a Limited game on Saturday mornings when ever we can get at least three tables.  The game will be open to all Non-Life Masters (NLM)

When there is a game it will begin as close to 9:00 am as possible.  The game will continue for two hours.  We will play as many boards as possible within that time frame.  Class members who are able may stay after to discuss hands and ask questions. The Master Sheet listing all the boards played will be posted to the game results so that players can analysize their results.

Nansemond River Zero-Tolerance Policy

ACBL’s Zero Tolerance Policy

The ultimate purpose of the Z-T policy is to create a much more pleasant atmosphere in our club games. We are attempting to eradicate unacceptable behavior in order to make the game of bridge more enjoyable for all. Below are some examples of commendable behavior, which, while not required, will significantly contribute to the improved atmosphere:

  • Being a good ‘host’ or ‘guest’ at the table.
  • Greeting others in a friendly manner.
  • Praising the bidding and/or play of the opponents.
  • Having two clearly completed convention cards readily available to the opponents. (This one is a regulation, not just a nicety.)

The following list are examples of behavior that will not be tolerated:

  • Badgering, rudeness, insinuations, intimidation, profanity, threats or violence.
  • Negative comments concerning opponents’ or partner’s play or bidding.
  • Constant and gratuitous lessons and analyses at the table.
  • Loud and disruptive arguing with a director’s ruling.

If a player at the table behaves in an unacceptable manner, the director should be called immediately. Annoying behavior, embarrassing remarks, or any other conduct which might interfere with the enjoyment of the game is specifically prohibited by Law 74A. Law 91A gives the director the authority to assess disciplinary penalties.

November 2016 events

November 2016

We will only have four games in November.

November 1st, 8th and 22nd there will be pairs games

November 29th there will be a Fifth Tuesday Team Game.

November 8th is Election Day and the Church is a polling place so we will not be able to have a game at the church.  One of our members lives about 4 or 5 blocks from the church.  She has offered to have the game at her home on November 8th.  I will send an email and if you wish to play that particular Tuesday evening (election day) call or email me and I will provide an address.

The week of November 14 to November 20, 2016 there will be a  Regional tournament in Norfolk so all games in Unit 146 will be cancelled to defer to the Regional tournament.
