This years Club Champions are the popular pairing of Val Heferen and Jay Moore.

Neither of these players are new to the role of Club Champions though it is their first success as a pair. Anyone checking the web page listing the past champions will see that Val has been successful with Margaret Geddes and Cathy Cox.

However Jay's success predates those honoured on the trophy where her success came with the ever popular Molly Poole.

Over the years in normal club events Val and Jay have proved a formidable pairing and it is good to see their commitment and understanding of each others play meet with this susccess.

Congratulations Val and Jay

Green Plate

Barbara & Kay Wall

Libby Cox & Gail Mann

This years conslation cup run in conjunction with the Championships saw a good field contect the Green Trophy.

The successful pairing for North South were Barbara and Kay Wall who finished with a good margin and a very amazed smile on their faces.

East West this year went to the combination of Libby Cox and Gail Mann.

It is wonderful to see new names appear in these major events in the winners position and to watch the facial expressions as they reflect a combination of amazement and joy. Congratulations to all those who went on from week one to week two with your original partners. It makes this consolation event a really meaningful one.

Congratulations to out winners and we look forward to seeing them continue with this new found success.

2017 saw a succesful defence of the title that Maureen Wright and Sandy Capper took out in 2016.

With 5½ tables, a Howell movement, and a fairly competative field this was a commendable effort. Using the scoring tablets which show your placing progressively the lead fluctuated throughout the morning. However when the final results were in there was a very relieved look on the champions face. With the vast majority of their table results in the top percentage and only a couple of results towards the bottom their consistancy was the telling factor in the end.

Congratulations to Maureen and Sandy
