Hosts urgently needed!!!!

We urgently need members to volunteer to act as host for the evening.   Please enter your name onto the Programme at the Club, or contact Marcia Marriott at 07908 586260.

If you offer to host, no bridge fee is payable for that evening whether or not you get to play.  If you don't play, then your free game extends to the next time you attend.

Although we aim to provide a host for every bridge session, we cannot always find one.  This is true especially of the summer months when many people are away on holiday.   Therefore, if no host is named for the session you want to attend, please be aware that if no other individuals turn up without a partner, you may not get a game.

History of the Monday Club

The club was founded in the late eighties by Pat Thomson. Pat lived in Caldervale Road, Clapham and the 'club' originally consisted of four or five tables in her house. Her clientele was drawn mainly from students coming out of the Monday evening bridge class at St. Francis Xaviers College in Wandsworth, where she had been a student.   After her death in 1996, it moved to Balham under the management of Roger Fellows. The move to the present premises in Tooting took place in 2003. It became a members' club on the 1st July 2012 and has been managed by an elected committee since then. We have had to move premises several times owing to factors beyond our control, but hope to stay at the Northcote for the foreseeable future.
