Mississippi Bridge Association, Unit 138 (one of 300+ ACBL units) supervises and promotes bridge within its boundaries. MBA has the exclusive right to host sectionals in its territory and may conduct other special games such as unit championships. The unit receives a share of ACBL membership fees. ACBL encourages units to use these fees for programs to increase membership and enhance the enjoyment of the game for all members. MBA has agreed to comply with ACBL Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
BOUNDARIES
ACBL is divided into Districts. The Southern part of the US is District 10. District 10 consist of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Central and Western Tennessee and South and East Arkansas. The district is divided into Units. Mississippi has three Units, Unit 180 is the Gulf Coast; Unit 214 is the Hattiesburg, Laurel area. Unit 138, MBA, runs from Brookhaven, to Meridian and North to the state line. Unit 138 is subdivided into four district for the purpose of electing members of the Board of Directors. MEMBERSHIP
Members of ACBL are automatically a member of the Unit in which they reside.

UNIT CHAMPIONSHIPS
ACBL has allocated 24 unit championship sessions per year to each unit. Units may schedule these sessions at their discretion. Units prepare bridge competitions that are suitable for their membership size and for the size and location availability of their playing areas.
Clubs that conform with ACBL regulations that have proved reliable in submitting Monthly Report Forms and fees, and that have an adequate number of tables may participate in these unit championships. Clubs not sanctioned to meet at the times of unit events may be allowed to participate in these events with unit approval.
