Many of the clubs in Merseyside offer beginners' and/or improvers' lessons. There are also easy duplicate sessions for improvers. As these change in availability it is not possible to keep a definitive list on this site. You can access the clubs' websites through the link top left on this site. Depending on where you live, possible clubs to try include Blundellsands BC, Deva, Liverpool BC, and Merseyside Bridge Centre.

Congratulations to Mark Weeks, Barry Jones,Alan Stephenson, Stu Matthews on winning the Jim Davies trophy held at Liverpool Bridge club. Click here for the full results.
Congratulations to David Stevenson and Liz Commins on winning the Mixed Pairs trophy in the Yorkshire Congress. They alos won the teams with Tom Dessain and Tugral Kaban from London.
The final of the Cheshire Salver took place on Tuesday 29th May, contested by the teams captained by Ted Reveley and Barb Serres. The Cheshire Salver is the plate event for the Lady Connell, our premier county knockout teams event.
The match was won by Ted Reveley's team. Many congratulations to both teams and especially to the winners, Ted Reveley, Mike Swanson, Alan Stephenson and Stuart Matthews.
This popular event, organised by MCBA and hosted by Deva Bridge Club took place on Friday 18th May. 39 people eager to improve their game fought their way past the parking problems caused by the Christleton 5k run and were matched up with 13 friendly experts who had kindly volunteered their services. All had an excellent evening as the photo suggests. The Duplimate machine decided to produce some wild hands which were difficult to bid even for the experts and generated lots of discussion and tips to take away.. We hope to run this event next year so if you missed out this time then look out for information and apply early in 2019. We are also keen to recruit more experts (a loosely defined term but basically anyone playing in county teams or MBL division one) - if you would be interested please contact any of the MCBA committee members.
Congratualtions to Rodney Lighton and John Currie on winning the John Armstrong trophy held at the Deva. In second place were Bob Loveridge and Michael Tomlinson.
The final of the Lady Connell took place at Deva Bridge Club on Wednesday 15th May between the teams captained by Bob Pitts and Dave Shaw.
The Lady Connell is our premier county knock out event, with the winning team earning the right to represent Merseyside & Cheshire in the Pachabo Cup, the EBU event for County Champion teams.
After a well fought match, Dave Shaw's team emerged as winners. Many congratulations to both teams and especially to the winners, Dave Shaw, Richard Davies, Bernard Krasner and Stuart Scholes.
The next MCBA Executive committee meeting will be held on Friday 5th October.
