ACTIVITIES FOR NEWCOMERS AND IMPROVERS
Manchester Bridge Club provides Foundation Courses for Beginners
in both Card Play and Bidding
and also ensures plenty of activities to help and support players who are keen to improve.
You do not need to have a partner - just come along and partners will be found.
COMPLETE BEGINNERS FOUNDATION COURSES
New courses for Beginners are held throughout the year at regular intervals both in the evening and during the day.

There are a number of ongoing activities for Newcomers and Improvers:-
MONDAY AFTERNOON SUPERVISED DUPLICATE WITH DAVID DEBBAGE at 1pm
(Suitable for Improvers & Refreshers)
David gives a brief lesson at 1pm followed by Supervised Duplicate finishing around 4.15pm
Partners always found.
TUESDAY EVENING SUPERVISED PLAY CLASS & LESSON WITH MICHAEL BYRNE & MICHAEL NEWMAN at 7.30pm
(Suitable for Newcomers, Improvers & Refreshers)
Michael Byrne talks for about 30 minutes on the topic of the day and then both Michael's help and advise during the following supervised duplicate. Partners always found..
WEDNESDAY EVENING SUPERVISED PLAY CLASS at 7.30pm with OLLIE BURGESS
(Suitable for Newcomers and Improvers)
THURSDAY EVENING SWISS PAIRS at 7.30pm
(Suitable for Improvers upwards)
This is not supervised play but is an ideal stepping stone to 'the real thing!'
After the first round your pair is matched against players of a similar standard so it's a friendly and enjoyable experience but a good opportunity to mix with people who are more experienced.
♠ INTERMEDIATE SUNDAY SEMINAR WORKSHOPS with OLLIE BURGESS from 2.30pm to 5pm

The seminar starts with a comprehensive topic discussion followed by numerous topic specific practice hands.
The cost of the seminar is £10.00 for members, £5 for students and £12 for visitors. This includes refreshments during the brief break.
Ollie is well known to members of the club and runs the Wednesday Evening Supervised Play Class. Ollie plays bridge at International level and has represented England at both Junior Level and for the Under 28 Team including the World Bridge Games in Beijing.
Everyone is welcome to attend and you don't need a partner. You can just turn up on the day but it would be helpful to Ollie if you could let him know in advance if you are intending to come along by emailing him at oliverburgess5@gmail.com
