PLEASE PLAY BOARDS IN THE CORRECT ORDER |
From The Directors Chair...
The announcement of the results for Tue 06 Feb after the game was delayed because I had to fix up the scores for several boards that were played out of sequence.
Can I remind all players that board management is important and, if we are playing a Mitchell movement (as we normally do and as we did this week), that that responsibility falls on NS. So, please...
- Before you (as N or S) pass the boards on to the next table where they will be used, make sure that the boards are presented a) in sequence, eg 13, 14 15 rather than 14, 13, 15; b) uniformly orientated, ie N and S are uniformly aligned. and; c) they are presented to the next table with correct orientation, ie N faces N
- When you (as N or S) accept delivery of the boards for the next round from another table, check that the board are correctly sequenced and uniformly and correctly oriented.
EW pairs are not off the hook here - they too have a role in ensuring that the correct boards are being played, in the correct sequence and orientation - check carefully and call out any problems.
Cheers, Paul
