Welcome to the LOUGHTON BRIDGE CLUB website.
We play a good standard of duplicate bridge on Monday and Wednesday evenings (7.20-10.30) and we operate a host system so you can turn up on your own (it's worth checking the calendar to make sure that there's a host though)..
We play at Oak View School, Whitehills Rd, Loughton, Essex, IG10 1TS on Mondays. From Loughton High Road, go up Traps Hill, left into Church Lane and right into Whitehills Road.
We play at the Grange Farm Centre, Grange Farm Lane, Chigwell IG7 6DP on Wednesdays. From Chigwell High Rd turn off the roundabout into the new housing estate (covered in hoardings) and keep going until you see the centre on your left.
We are affiliated to the Essex Contract bridge Association and the English Bridge Union.
There is always a warm welcome at Grange Farm on a Wednesday evenings
For a list of Essex Competitions click here and you will automatically be linked to the Essex web site, where you will find all the information you need. The Calendar gives dates and start times while the Programmes give more details of the events, venues, entry fees, etc. You can enter online and pay entry fees electronically if you choose, but there are alternatives if you prefer. If you may be interested in entering but are unsure of how things work then please speak to a Committee member. We want to encourage entries, especially from newer members, wherever we can.

To help achieve a timely (10.30) finish, play will start at 7.20 (not 7.30) so all players are requested to arrive by 7.10 and to be seated and ready to play by 7.20 pm prompt. Also, we will use a timer on a regular basis. This may mean that sometimes you will be asked not to play a hand if your table is behind, in the interest of maintaining progress towards a timely finish. This isn't usually a criticism or a penalty (though you may be penalised if you're consistently slow) - it's just necessary to keep to time.
11th March Pairs Championship
18th March Teams of 4 Championship
10th April Mixed Pairs Championship
17th June Committee Cup
1st July AGM
We are a friendly club and always pleased to see new faces.
Why not give us a try? There will be no charge for your first visit.
Most evenings we try to provide a host, so just come along on the off chance.
We are sure you will enjoy the friendly and stimulating company.
If you are visiting the area and are missing your Bridge, you are welcome to join us.
The Host System operates on every session except for teams and mixed pairs events. All members are expected to host at least once a year if possible.
Click here for the link which will take you to the Calendar where you will be able to see the full list of hosts and when hosts are needed. Please contact Linda Jenkins to offer to host or with any host enquiries.
