RECYCLING AT THE CLUB

For several years, the club has been "doing the right thing" by recycling the club's waste, including aluminum cans, cardboard, and plastic bottles (and an occasional wine bottle).  This reminder provides information on acceptable items to place into the recyling bins.

♠   Plastics - Those numbered with the familiar recycling triangle with numbers 1 through 5 and 7.  NOT #6, which includes red solo cups and some other plastic cups.  Why not #6?  The City of Little Rock does not have the equipment necessary to recycle the #6 plastics at this time.  There should be no liquids or residue of the contents in the bottles.  It is best to remove the lid and throw it away and ensure that the liquid contents have been poured out.  Bottles such as Boost must be rinsed thoroughly before placing in the recycling bin.  Otherwise, they go in the trash.

Glass - Glass water bottles and wine bottles.  Also, rinse these and ensure there are no liquids in them.  Lids in the trash.

Cardboard and paper - Boxes of all types, broken down flat.  All types of paper.  NO paper towels or napkins.  Only lids of pizza boxes.

♣   Metal - Aluminum cans, containing no liquid, preferably rinsed.  Clean aluminum pans.

Remember there should be no items placed into recycling which have food on them or even food residue.  Place those items in the trash not the recycling bins.

The reycling manager and helpers at the club appreciate everyone's efforts to conform to the City of Little Rock requirements for recycling.

Partners Needed

Barbara Barkley and Carolynn Coleman would like to play more bridge.  Call them to form partnerships with them.

Jane Cazort, who has about 200 mp, would like to play more bridge.  She would like partners for the Monday through Friday daytime games.

Call any of these potential partners directly to coordinate schedules.
