Welcome to the Lingwood Bridge Club website.
We are a small friendly club that meets for duplicate bridge on Tuesday evenings at 7.15pm for a 7.25pm start. We play at the Danbury Sports and Social Centre - Danbury is a village approx 5 miles east of Chelmsford in Essex (See Location page for map). Most of our members come from local villages and nearby towns (eg Chelmsford , Maldon , South Woodham Ferrers) , but some members travel from further away.
The club is affiliated to the Essex Contract Bridge Association and the EBU. We run a variety of internal competitions and also field teams in Essex competitions.
The Social Club has a licensed bar , also tea and coffee are available.
Visitors are always welcome , and membership enquiries may be made to the secretary - see Key Information page for contact information and current charges.
If you have any other questions about the club , in the first instance please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page to see if your question has already been answered there. If it has not , then please refer to the Key Information page to identify who you should contact to answer your question.

If you are new to the Chelmsford area (or visiting) , and would like a game of bridge on a Tuesday evening , contact our Secretary Judith Loveridge 01245 475723. We do not offer a formal host system, but if you contact us by the end of Friday we will do our utmost to arrange a partner for you for the following Tuesday evening.
Existing members should continue to contact Sue Thorburn to arrange a partner. Please see section below regarding the new Data Protection Laws.
On 25th May 2018 the new Data Protection Laws came into force. This has the following effects on club members :-
When joining the club, or renewing membership, individuals will be asked to agree to their email address and phone number being included on the secure password protected area of the Lingwood website and for their data to be passed to the EBU and ECBA solely so that they can contact members directly with items that may be of interest.
Members' data will always be held securely on password controlled websites or personal devices. All communication with members will be by mailshot or blind copy so no personal details are available to other addressees. Data will not be shared with other organisations.
Any member who does not want their contact details shown in a "partner finder" email must make that known when requesting a partner.
