NEW - Club opinion poll

The Club Committee have assessed the members views and are making some amendments for 2017.

Most members are happy with the days of week played currently and, although there is some interest in another daytime session, it was not sufficient at this stage to progress.

The Club will be trialling an informal 'Easy duplicate' session once a month on Tuesdays in the New Year. This will not be computer dealt or see results posted to EBU and is designed to help improvers into duplicate bridge as well as a more relaxed game for those members interested. See website for more details in due course.

More than any other subject, comments of members concerned pace of play\ later finishing times. In response the Committee have actioned 2 things: a new timer has been bought which will be trialled over coming weeks. In addition there will be a rule that no new movement can start after 10pm. TDs are asked to enforce this consistently.

Finally, concerns were expressed that the number of sitting pairs can impact the results. However sitting pairs are a courtesy the Club does not wish to change if needed. TDs will be approached and asked if they can become non-sitting pairs if needed in the future.

Like all changes, these new ideas can only work if supported by all members, not just those on Committees. In particular we can finish on time if we start on time and you can help this. Please support where you can.

How to help your Bridge Club

The Club always needs people to help run our bridge sessions. Members are asked if they can be available to train in dealing, computer scoring, or TD training. Please let a Committee member know if you can help. We especially need more volunteers for Mondays especially computer scoring, you will be helped to learn!
