NEW - Bridgemates have arrived

On Thursday 12th May, the Club introduced new Bridgemates II to the Club. The improvement was enjoyed by all and many thanks to Treasurer Phil for procuring them and Maurice Lynn particularly for getting them up and running in sync with Scorebridge on the Computers.

As well as the obvious benefits of new, 'non-sticky' scorepads there are a number of features we ask all members to take note of, and some suggestions to enjoy bridge more:-

- in the next couple of weeks, can those playing North take the time to show other players the newer Bridgemates and what the screens look like

- scores for all boards played can be reviewed at the end of each round so can North and East double-check these to avoid scoring errors. TDs and scorers will assume both pairs accept the scores after this point.

- once a board is played you can see all previous scores on a single screen. We suggest North places this on the table for all players to view, ideally silently, there is no need to broadcast comments around the room!

- at the end of the session it is possible to see your own final position, and % score, preventing the need to hang around for the results if you don't want to.

New - Garden Cities Trophy

The four pairs representing City of Lincoln at the regional qualifying event in Peterborough on 7th May put up a very creditable showing finishing 5th of the 9 counties represented.

The top 3 teams on the day all contained a number of Grand Masters, and indeed the odd international, so our players represented our Club and County with distinction.

Thanks to captain Nick Hunter for pulling the team together and all the players involved. Full results on the EBU website for anyone interested.
