To Nick Hunter & Ruby Schnalke who won the Swiss Teams at the EBU Harrogate Congress partnering Mark Wardell & Kiat Huong from Louth. They beat of field of 50 teams, including many experienced top players, to win by 2 VPs at the end.
The next 'open' competition is a Swiss Pairs on Sunday 17th February at Dunholme Village Hall starting at 11.30am. Swiss Pairs is a great format as you end up playing partnerships around your level. Entries via the Lincs Bridge website where you find more details.
Please note the date of the Club AGM has been moved back into Monday 18th February.
Please note that you can still submit any proposals for the AGM but they must be received in writing by the Club Secretary by Monday 28th January.
The agenda for this meeting an be viewed by clicking on this link. The minutes from the 2018 meeting can be seen in the relevant page of the website.
The Committee has decided that this year all the club trophies that have been won in 2018 will be presented at a future event of the session in which they were won, ie Mondays winners on a future Monday.
Could anyone in possession of a trophy for 2017 please return it to Janet Collins as soon as practical, to get 2018 winners names engraved and presented.
Congratulations to the Lincoln pairs who qualified for the Final of the Bainton trophy recently; Maurice Lynn & John Hill, Andrew Green & Keith Stewart, Nick Hunter & Ruby Schnalke and Alan Millington & Chris Phillips.
We may also lay claim to congratulating Cos Corry & Mike Stafford but their qualification was gained at Market Rasen so technically not 'ours'.
If you can't play in the Final on 24th February at Lincoln, for whatever reason, please let the County Sec. Glynn know asap. This event is a Green Pointed final so needs to be played over minimum 36 boards on an 'all play all' basis so ensuring the right movement is vital.
Good luck to all.
Congratulations to the Lincoln team that qualified on Sunday for the next stage of this competition.
Six teams of 8 competed at Dunholme and after 3 rounds, Lincoln were tied with Scunthorpe but 3 VPs behind Louth. However they were the teams left to play! Going into the last round Lincoln were 1 VP up so the pressure was on but a 13-7 victory over a strong Louth team saw Lincoln home.
Congratulations to the team of Nick Hunter & Ruby Schnalke, Alan Millington & Chris Phillips, Alison & Andrew Howarth and Deniis Mellor & Debbie Burton. Good luck in the Regional semi-final towards the end of April.

The Club always needs people to help run our bridge sessions. Members are asked if they can be available to train in dealing, computer scoring, or TD training. Please let a Committee member know if you can help. We especially need more volunteers for Mondays especially computer scoring, you will be helped to learn!
