Simultaneous Pairs

At the Club AGM the number of Simultaneous Pairs played in the Club was debated. Do you want to see more, less or happy with the number played now?

The Committee agreed to hold a survey of members' views and a ballot box and voting slips will be available at all sessions during February.

Please exercise your democratic mandate, the Committee will evaluate all viewpoints and make a future recommendation in due course. One vote per member only.

Please see the poster on the Club noticeboard or by clicking this link.

NEW 7th January Bridge - Winter Sim Pairs

Members who attended this session may be aware that some issues arose meaning the scores have not been posted to the EBU website.

Essentially a dealing error meant the file for Thursday SIM Pairs was also used to deal the hands for the previous Wednesday bridge session.

The EBU are quite clear the club cannot be part of the Sim Pairs results for this reason. It is particular shame for Dennis Mellor and Debbie Burton who won the event by a good margin.

However, the Club strongly wishes to assure all members that there is no suggestion whatsoever of any impropriety involved, or advantage gained, in either session by any member. It is perfectly possible to play both sessions and not realise, especially if sitting in different seats!

All members who paid extra for the Sim Pairs will have £2 refund as compensation for any disappointment caused, the Club Treasurer is dealing with this.

Finally, the Committee has decided that the result can stand for the final Frank White of 2015 but should not be used as part of Thursday rankings 2016.
