Lerwick Bridge Club is a friendly club which meets every Monday evening at 7 o’clock to play duplicate bridge.
Venue
We meet in the Islesburgh Community Centre on King Harald Street.
There is a car park with disabled parking and there is street parking close by. The Islesburgh Centre is equipped with a lift. There is also a café for the early arrivals.
Competitions
The club is affiliated to the Scottish Bridge Union and caters for club, district, national as well as other special competitions. The season starts in September and goes through to early May. Each year there is an inter-county match with Orkney which takes place in mid May. On alternate years Shetland players travel to Orkney, this is always a wonderful occasion.
Drop-in
These sessions are informal and you do not require a partner. It is an ideal way to learn more, discuss bidding and play. Drop-in meetings take place on Wednesday evenings at 7 o’clock in the Islesburgh from September and goes through to early May until the main programme is completed when they move to a Monday .
Visitors
Visitors are always welcome. If you don’t have a partner just come along to the drop-in sessions. If you would need a partner for club competitions please contact the secretary.
