A duplicate pairs competition open to all pairs composed of a lady and a gentleman. Played within a club duplicate evening. Prizes for the top pairs on both a handicap and outright basis will be awarded on the night. To take place on the first Friday in September. - Taylor Cup
A knockout pairs competition. Matches to be played by agreement of opposing pairs within club duplicate sessions. Entry open to all pairs, draw to be made by August 31st, First round matches to be played during September, second round October, and so on. Results will be subject to handicap. Prizes and a trophy for the winners, prizes for the runners-up, will be presented at the club AGM - Open Pairs Competition
A one session duplicate pairs event to be played on the third Sunday in November. Open to all, entry fee £3.50 per player. Prizes for the top pairs on outright scoring, also for the top pairs on handicap scoring, awarded on the day. Start time 2.00 pm - Dorothy Bell Cup
An individual competition played on the first Wednesday of the month. Starts in January and concludes in May. To qualify members must play with at least three different partners within the five sessions, best three scores to count. Prizes for the top individuals on both handicap and outright scoring. A cup for the winner! - Jepson Trophy
A teams of four competition, must be entered as a team. A qualifier will be played on the third Thursday in February, with a final between the top two teams to follow by arrangement between the teams. Scored by IMPs converted to VPs. There will be prizes for the first two teams, a trophy for the winners, to be presented at the AGM. Normal table money to be paid. - Sowerby Cup
A two session open duplicate pairs event to be played on the first Sunday in May. Entry will be open to all, and the competition publicised to other local clubs. Entry fee of £7 per player, prizes as follows: Winners £30 per player Ascender (best improver in second session) £10 per player. - Teams of 4 event
A Saturday session open to all to build experience of teams play. Played on the second Saturday of the month from July to April. Sessions will initially be alternated between evenings and afternoons to establish the preference of participants as to time of day. |
