A big thankyou to the folk at Club Macquarie who provide our comfortable venue and are happy to assist at all times.

The second round of the President's Cup saw a change of venue at Club Macquarie - the Mountain View Room - scenic views to the west were on offer whilst we waited for our opponents to decide what to bid perhaps?? Welcome also to John Hall - a recent new member - great to have you with us John.
It has been great to see some new players recently - a big hello to Rocco Gallucci, Pam Bagnall and John Hall- come back soon. Welcome also to an infrequent visitor - rain! We know it's been raining because we get to enjoy the company of Shirley Pedonese and Eileen Lewis (who'd much rather be golfing on Tuesdays) - hope to see LOTS more of you both and we can't get by without our hard working committee - here's secretary Yvonne Grant getting us all organized for the first round of the President's Cup.
A team of familiar Lake Macquarie faces (+ one honoured guest) had an enjoyable weekend of bridge at Forster recently. Eight sessions each of 14 boards were held over two days on February 9/10. Some pleasing bridge results all added to the fun. It was a pleasure to meet Jack Carson's brother Graham who had travelled some considerable distance to make up the team. The Congress was well organized, the food terrific and the company pleasant.
Much was accomplished before Bridge on January 16. A special general meeting saw the unanimous acceptance of amendments to the Constitution. Following, at the AGM, the outgoing committee was thanked for their diligence in steering the Club well over the preceding 12 months. The new committe duly sworn in by presiding Officer John Robinson, is stacked with talent with many of the committee members agreeing to help in various roles for 2018. Congratulations to the folk who received awards at our annual Christmas Luncheon. But we're all winners really and say 'thank you' Lake Macquarie Bridge Club for providing a relaxing, friendly game of bridge for us to enjoy each week.
What a great day we had playing bridge in a new venue in beautiful surroundings - Waratah Golf Club. The ladies (and Jack) were dressed in the finest spirit of the day as the photographs amply illustrate.
