The Easter bunny bought us a surprise today - a new member. Welcome Belinda - we hope you enjoy bridge at Lake Mac
Check out 2018 winners
Bridge was back today with 10.5 tables - holidays all over. It was great to see a good crowd and all our regulars enjoying the game in the relaxing atmosphere that is Lake Macquarie Bridge Club... and NO, we weren't watching TV but trying out a new room in Club Macquarie - it all worked well.
Is that a rookie Director officiating?? NO... just the lovely Gaye Hancock co-opted to help out. Some may not remember Gaye as a Director but us 'older' folk have memories of Gaye as the Director at Toronto Bridge Club for many years and remember her calm and efficient style. Good work Gaye!
Happy New Year to everyone. Let's hope it is a good one for us all personally and at Bridge (of course!)
It's also a time to say MANY THANKS to the outgoing Committee and WELCOME to the incoming one. Sadly, some well loved faces will not, for various reasons, be with us for some time this year.
A big thankyou to Alan Bryce and Anne Mills for all your sterling work for this committee and our Club - your presence is missed and we wish you well. Hopefully it won't be too long 'til we see you again.
Only a few changes to the committee to report: Jack Carson as new President and Hans Tiller as Vice President and Master Point secretary. Thanks guys - for your continued commitment to this club and also a BIG thankyou to all of the 2018 committee who are continuing in their roles.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our bridge friends and a BIG thankyou to President Hans and the Committee for once again hosting us for a delicious Christmas Lunch at Club Macquarie.
Thanks also to Betty Cook for making it all happen.
Three cheers for our intrepid Pam Ingham who for her significant birthday did something extraordinarily brave and exciting. "The pilot and I flew from Belmont Airport to Norah Head lighthouse via the ocean and returned via the southern end of the lake. What a truly fabulous experience." You go girl! Did you happen to see Santa on your travels??
Well done !
