Ø      Remember to switch off your mobile phone. Answering a call or text, no matter how discreetly you think it may have been done, will always disrupt concentration for others.

Ø      Please ensure that you leave your Bid Box in the state you would expect to find it.

Ø      NORTH keeps score and controls the Boards:

          - For the FIRST set of Boards played:

To put the Board Numbers at the top of each score sheet.

To put the names of the both pairs on the back of the score sheets

To put the Full names of each pair on the Pairings Sheet

                -  Always ensure that the cards are returned to the correct Board pockets.

     - EAST/WEST should check that their score has been entered correctly.

Ø      Always count the cards before you look at them.

Ø      A player may only ask to see the last trick played if he/she has not yet turned over their own card.

Ø      Shuffle AND COUNT your cards before replacing them in the correct Board pocket.

Ø      The only cards you may touch are your own.

Ø      Refrain from touching the Bidding Box until you are ready to make your bid.

Ø      Know when to alert your partner's bid.

Ø      You may not alert your own bid or remind your partner to alert your bid.

Ø      If you jump a bid level, play the STOP card before your bid card.

Ø      If you are Declarer, it is courteous to thank your partner after his/her hand has been laid down.

Ø      When your partner fails to follow suit the FIRST time, ask "No hearts (or clubs etc) partner?"

Ø      Do not declare that you have all the last tricks unless you are on lead, but be willing to play out the hand should your opponents wish.

Ø      Do cause unnecessary delays to overall play with "post-mortems" during or after the playing of a board.

Ø      Do not critisise you partner's (or opponent's) play. If you do make a mistake , simply say "Sorry partner"

Ø      Try and bid all hands at a consistent pace. Slow play at a table has a knock-on effect on the whole session. So please show understanding when the Director requests that a hand be averaged so that the overall speed of play is restored.
