HOST DUTIES

The Rota for Hosts appears on the noticeboard (and in the Calendar on the website).

It is your responsibility to get the key for the night you are hosting from the previous week's host.

On the night:

  •      Bring a list of previous week's winners from the website results page
  •      Open the hall by 7.00pm
  •      In winter turn on water tap in gents' toilet
  •      Fill electric urn in kitchen with water and switch on - turn it down when it has boiled
  •      Put out tables and chairs
  •      Cover tables with cloths and 3 bidding boxes, 3 travellers, 1 table money slip, and 4 individual scorecards
  •      'Encourage' folk to take seats for a 7.30pm start
  •      Read out any social notices and the winners of the previous week and ask the Director to announce the movement
  •      Play with any member not having a partner or sit out
  •      Collect and add up table money
  •      Pay Jane (£20). If the Treasurer is not present put the rest of the money in an envelope in the bridge box
  •      Pass key on to host of the following week
  •      If you cannot host it is your responsibility to arrange to swap with someone else and print your names on the list on the notice board

If you don't get a game and want to leave early please make sure that someone is responsible for the following:

  •      Oversee clearing up - make sure floor is hoovered and the blue biscuit tin is in the bridge box not left in the kitchen - and lock up the bridge box
  •      Ensure all heaters and lights are switched off and the curtains are open
  •      In winter ensure that the Frost Protection switch in the kitchen is on and the water tap in the gents' toilet is turned off
  •      Lock up

Directors are one of Clive Richardson, Brian Jordan, and Roger Cave

Jane is responsible for supplying coffee, tea, milk, sugar, and biscuits.
